I have two patients with QT prolongation on their EKG since starting Nutrimed. I discontinued any offending drugs, but I'd like to know if this is a contraindication to continuing the program? All electrolytes have been checked and corrected as well. What would be the next step in management?

Typically in a compliant patient with satisfactory labs and all appropriate medications discontinued can safely continue if the benefits of weight loss on the current plan remains. Another option would be to add a low calorie meal one time a day and continue the products for the other meals. Our program continues the VLCD. —Christopher Case, MD
